NAV Can online tests
Hello everyone,
I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post about this, if not my apologies in advance and I'd love to know where I could have this information.
I recently complete the online tests for NAV Can (personnality and abilities). I only manage finish 26 of the 30 questions in the 8 minutes time frame, but still got the green light. Not sure it will be enough for the assessement invitation though.
I was wondering how many days it takes on average before you get a reponse (do you get notified even if it's a negative one?). Also, has anyone who only completed 26 questions gotten an invitation here?

Re: NAV Can online tests
I have done the online test twice, and each time finished around 26 questions. Both got the green light after, but the first time I applied, I ended up waiting a year and my application expired. The second time, I did the online exam in April, and got the call for the in-person testing session nearly six months later. From what I understand, for the in-person exam, it all depends where you score in the pool for the initial online exam, and if there is a course coming up in your region. They only invite so many candidates even if you get the green light. There are about seven sections to the second round testing session, and if you fail (versus their benchmark) any one section, you are out and have to start the application process all over again after waiting one year past the second exam date.

Here's a thread that gives prospective candidates a good idea of how long it can take between each step. It was about 1.5 months from my online assessment to my in-person assessment. Other people have taken almost a year between those first two steps, so it varies widely based on your score and whether or not they are even running assessments at that time.jzt26 wrote:I was wondering how many days it takes on average before you get a reponse

I just saw that there will be an assessment in my area on October 14th... so basically in a bit more than a month. Do they usually send out invites at least a month before the date? Or has it happened before that people got the invite a week before or so?DHC-1 Jockey wrote:Here's a thread that gives prospective candidates a good idea of how long it can take between each step. Gotcha. There's so many steps, it's really daunting.airspeed250 wrote:I have done the online test twice, and each time finished around 26 questions. Re: NAV Can online tests
I can't answer that for sure. I called the recruiting office after my online application green light and asked if there was still room for an assessment that was 3 weeks away. They took a look at my file, saw that my marks were high enough and gave me the last seat in the assessment. I only got the seat because I called and asked, so it might be a good idea in your case to give them a call and ask if all the seats are taken yet.jzt26 wrote:I just saw that there will be an assessment in my area on October 14th... so basically in a bit more than a month. That's very good to know... I'll give them a call tomorrow for sure. The test is in 5 weeks and I still might get invited, but if calling can increase my chances, I'll definitely give it a try.DHC-1 Jockey wrote:I can't answer that for sure. Will keep you updated.
Re: NAV Can online tests
I called yesterday and got a seat for the assessement session.
Basically I wasn't getting an invite because my first language was French and the session is in English, but I told them I didn't mind.
Hopefully it goes well, I have a month to prepare.
