Edmonton city center flying club today

People should not have to fear both the government and the criminal. It should be that the criminal fears both the people and the government.

Considering the flying club was told the building was going to be used for office space....

I saw in the paper today the ex mayor of Edmonton is the new provincial minister of health. At least he knows how the medivac thing works.

Don't forget the "newly discovered" extra costs to develop the airport lands for residential and the yet to be decided deal with Katz for a new arena! Yup, we want (Howie) Mandell running Health Services for sure! What a comedian!!!

It was once a pretty busy spot and the Instructors would always migrate over to Brooker Wheaton. Did my Flying Scholarship here during the summer of 1977 with the younger Thomas Hinderks from the Alberta Aviation Museum. The little cafeteria was always full during the lunch hours and often it was difficult to rent a plane or book an instructor. The C 150 solo at that time was $14 and hour and the Fleet 80 was $12.

Wow you just blew my cover as a young up and coming Museum Executive Director...especially after posting how much the rates were back then (lol).ehbuddy wrote: Did my Flying Scholarship here during the summer of 1977 with the younger Thomas Hinderks from the Alberta Aviation Museum. Seriously...fire me a pm I'd like to see who this is, maybe share a couple of war stories.

And to add insult to injury, Steven Mandel is now our Health Minister!
He whom said closing the airport wouldn't affect medevacs and would be cheap in the long run operating it out of YEG.

Can't speak for anyone else on the course but I wasn't very quiet or reserved on the ground or in the air.

Re: Edmonton city center flying club today
On some sick level I would rather see every trace of the airport destroyed than see the hangars and other aviation related buildings turned into pretentious restaurants and bars for the assholes who will come to live there and celebrated it's destruction.
The thought of connect2edmonton type morons gathering there to celebrate makes me sick.
