Powered Parachutes

Post by GARRETT »

Does anyone know where I can buy one of these powered parachutes in Canada? I've emailed a couple places with no replies. It seems nobody wants to take my money. Any ideas or recommendations?

Since the dawn of the ages man has looked at his patio set with wonder and amazement pondering how he could make up for the shortcomings of the gods who did not grant the Ikea Malaro chaise with the gift of flight.

I have never heard of any powered parachute schools or operators in Canada, only paramotors (the ones without the trike).

Just across the border in Arlington, Washington, one of the US's few schools operates. I know of an FAA Inspector from Oklahoma City who was scheduled to go there to get qualified; indicating they have a good reputation:

They are also representatives for the "Six Chuter" line of PPC's, the factory is in Wenatchee, WA.

A few months ago I was at St Jean Quebec and there was a club display of trikes and back pack powered chutes.. dont remember name but perhaps add that to your search. The rigs all seemed to be European.

How's your French?

Check out http://airprogyro.com

Not much of a website, but they do specialize in powered chutes and autogyros. They're located in Ste-Apollinaire, Qc. Ask for David. He does speak english.

Hope that helps!

There's a place in New Brunswick around Sussex that I have heard good things about training wise, don't know too much about his sales though.

There's a guy at my field who is an accomplished and competitive paraglider pilot who was offering lessons for powered parachutes... and sales I would imagine for those who come up with the cash....
