CBC bias against Air Canada

Is anyone else getting tired of the same old garbage reporting and bias against Air Canada?

The last couple "articles" about carry on baggage, and porn are a good example.

Air Canada is possibly the worst airline for travel in Canada. It's not bias if they actually suck so bad as they do.

I agree Air Canada is not a great airline. However they are leaps and bounds ahead of some US carriers like American. Talk about a horrible airline. I do say Kudos to Air Canada for going after carry on baggage. Maybe West Jet will learn something as far as carryon goes. Rather then airlines charging for bags going under the plane they should start charging for carryon. I am sick of watching people wanting to carryon everything but the kitchen sink. All this does brings security lines as well as loading and unloading to a crawl.It totally amazes me to watch people with tags like super elite stand in a security line and walk up to the front and stand there likes its their first time when some low paid security person has to remind them to pull all their crap out of their carryon bag. If your ever in a crash and it doesn't kill you all the over sized over weight carryon flying around the cabin probably will.

Yes, lots of people do. Their news division is second to none despite the occasional gaffs and enthusiasm for bashing Air Canada that every other organization suffers from. CBC radio is also a valuable part of Canadian media. Public broadcasters fulfill a role that is often times difficult for people to see, and since the CBC is actually very good at remaining impartial those of a right leaning tendency especially don't like it.

Much to the chagrin of a certain portion of the population, the CBC actually tends to present a rather balanced perspective. Sun News, I would agree is certainly full right wing, CBC, more centre to just left of...

All of the analysis panels on CBC are represented by the full political spectrum. The weekly (or more) At Issue panel, political strategists on The National, and consistently on Power and Politics. They all have the full range of view points given equal time. And the most important part is the respect and courtesy shown to each view point by the respective hosts and by the guests themselves. It is a very well moderated platform befitting a public broadcaster charged with serving all Canadians.

Contrast that with Sun News and Fox who treat any non-right wing ideologue stupid enough to appear there with smug, barely concealed (and occasionally open) contempt.

Watch? Hardly ever, except for Newsworld.
Listen? All of the time. CBCRadio is, despite all of the cuts, a great set of radio stations. A breath of fresh air compared to the inanities of most morning radio shows.

Whats with all the hate towards A/C?

Iv only flown with them multiple times and iv never had issues and will continue to fly with them.
But I guess I am one of those people that's just happy to be flying and don't care about service that much.

CBC is no more balanced than Sun. CBC does present their views with a bit more polish. If you are truly looking for balance in your news you should watch both CBC and Sun, then make up you own mind on this issue.

I've spent more than half my 59 years living outside of Canada and seen many various news services from around the world and quite frankly I think CBC does an excellent job and is pretty well neutral/centrist journalistically.

It is far less politically loaded than the US news services especially compared to Fox or CNN.

CBC also has some wonderful, world-class investigative programs and quite honestly I haven't noticed or seen anything that I could call an anti-Air Canada bias.
I can't say anything about Sun news since I've never watched them. I get my world-events news from a mix of BBC,CBC and I'll check CNN once in awhile but quite frankly that's more for the entertainment value rather than hard news.
