Mine is the Cub that is sitting in my garage.... not being worked on right now because I am drinking coffee and wasting time on here. There is something satisfying about something that you worked on to bring from a collection of parts to an airworthy aircraft... but I never flew any of the aircraft I had restored previously. I don't think I'd appreciate any airplane that I just bought with lottery winnings.
I am really looking forward to the day it sits on Edo 1400s.... ...and I'd like a set of skis for it too since our lake would be just perfect for it.
Realisically:
A 172P with a decent instrument panel.
Money was no object:
Piston: SR22 or Piper Malibu
Turbine single: PC12
Turbine Twin: King Air 350
Civil Jet: Anything in the Challenger series.
Fighter: B-58 Hustler

Pretty sure the B-58 Hustler was a bomber not a fighter

Whatever you wanna class it as; It's loud, belches smoke, and goes fast.
Spartan Executive
Douglas Dakota Mk. IV
Canadair Sabre Mk. 6
Canadian Vickers-built Consolidated Model 28 PBY-5A Canso
Grumman HU-16B Albatross
Douglas C-54G Skymaster
Avro Lancaster B. Mk. III or X
Bell UH-1H
What I will most likely end up owning at some point in my life : DHC-1 or C170B
What I wish I had, based on the things I like to do and what I like to look at that aren't totally made of unobtanium:
Extra 300L for going upsidey down with a friend..
DHC-2 on straight Edo's… because I can't NOT have a piston Beaver..
DHC-2T on whipline amphibs
Beech D18S with both wheels and floats. Polished aluminum with some kind of sharks teeth motif
Beech T34B or V35TC.. depending on what I can find in decent shape. Painted up as a Navy Trainer
Beech King air F90 or a wildly upgraded 200 for staying within some of the smaller airfields
Gulfstream G550 for going anywhere in the world
Grumman G73 Mallard for getting around in the caribbean duh!

I'm with you on the B-58, though I don't think the acquisition cost would be as much of a problem as maintaining and feeding it.

North Shore,
Since you said that (and it is so true), if happen to find yourself out in Central Alberta PM me and I'll take you for a ride.

Agreed on coolest and it prompted a bit of a search. There are 42 Bell-47's registered in Canada (not sure of course how many are airworthy). If the lotto hits (not a big win required), a 47 can be purchased for around 155,000.
