RCAF Wartime Anson Mk 2 crash near Norwich Ontario
Good morning all
I know its 70 + years ago but I am researching a wartime Anson crash that occurred near Norwich Ontario.
On Sat . I spent the day investigating the sight and there are substantial remains of the aircraft still inplace.
From the wreckage, I can confirm that the ANSON came down and impacted at a very high rate of speed and there is evidence of fire also. There is also causualty evidence.
Thru my personal BCATP archives, I have usually been able to track down this sort of thing but this one is eluding me at present
Any help to identify the RCAF # of the aircraft and incident details would be greatly appreciated.

You can use the pictures that are already up on the Harvard site if you direct link to the picture itself.

The nice thing about flying the Anson in the winter was if we crashed we had lots of wood to burn to keep warm.
It sure had weird brakes on it...vaccum over hydraulics.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

You sure it was a crash? That engine mount is looking pretty good for something that dove into the ground...

Nobody has stated that it dove into the groundlownslow wrote:You sure it was a crash? That engine mount is looking pretty good for something that dove into the ground...
From the evidence onsite, the aircraft hit the ground ar a high rate of speed.
Considering the surrounding surviving pieces of cockpit structure shows fractures and the engine mounts are twisted , this was no forced approach / rough landing
I have been involved in the salvage 100's of aircraft crashes over the years , there is much tell tale evidence at this site that helps form a picture .
