Daughter of Korean Air chairman forces A380 back to gate
She was upset that she was served Macadamia nuts in a bag instead of a dish and wanted the cabin crew removed. She was also the airline's chairman and head of in-flight service but resigned this week.

The snobbishness of certain people, trying to fill blanks with blanks.
It is kind of sad this person is getting that much attention.
But for south Korean "high society" ... It is an accurate image.

Hell, last time I flew Air Canada, we didn't even get nuts, let alone macadamias...

Don't ya hate how some of the peanuts try and fall out when trying to tear open those plastic packages ? I can empathize when selecting an individual Macadamia from the dish it wouldn't involve cupping your hand and scooping them up that way; no need for later having to wipe anything up or dispose of nuisance garbage ... simply hand back the small dish.
I wonder sometimes about the recycling, where all that plastic goes after every flight (cups bags knives forks).
I can see where asking politely for a dish and being turned down could spark the ire (or who knows if as an exec was just trying to encourage a new idea ? ie rejection ?); .... though it does look obvious that demanding the extra service and getting turned off is what got things boiling. In any case, taking anger management 101 is problably a good way to proceed ... unless there was no dish available where then Psyc-101 becomes an option.

I have flown 62 long haul flights with Korean will will continue to fly with them.Even though the food is geared towards Koreans,it is served with a smile..and they treat my daughter like a princess...and the beer is consistently cold..managment has a few problems, like a few outfits I've flown for,but the crews are great..

Re: Daughter of Korean Air chairman forces A380 back to gate
The decision to delegate an A380 "back to gate" over 'peanuts' is doing PR damage on its own, as everyone else who has them in their fleet must be striving to keep them 'connecting' seamlessly to prove their good record after some of the glitches. To be in charge and lose sight of that goal ...

Gotta love working for an airline where the "Head of Cabin Service" can overrule the Captain!

Apparently sales of macadamia nuts have soared in South Korea. I guess a lot didn't know what they were before this story broke!

Not only overruling the captain, but booting the head F/A off, too.
There were two things that should have been booted off that flight - Heather Cho and her entitled ass..
