Sunwing Airlines Offers Boeing 787 Dreamliner Flights for the First Time This Summer
TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - January 08, 2015) - Beginning summer 2015, Sunwing Airlines will be offering a twice weekly service from Toronto to Amsterdam operated on the wide-bodied Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft for the first time. Available on Wednesdays and Saturdays from June 27, 2015 through September 02, 2015, new for this year, passengers will be able to relax on route on this new state-of-the-art aircraft.
Boasting a host of new technologies and revolutionary design, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner features larger dimmable windows, dynamic LED lighting, lower cabin altitude, and advances in air filtration system, resulting in a smoother ride and cleaner air.
On board, passengers can choose between three distinct cabin classes. Travellers opting to fly in the comfortable Economy Class cabin can look forward to a complimentary meal service including water, coffee and tea. They'll also benefit from a generous 25kg checked baggage allowance together with the option of bringing an additional 7kg carry-on baggage on board.
Upgrading to the well-appointed Comfort Class cabin offers passengers a 35kg checked baggage allowance together with the option to bring 7kgs of carry-on luggage on board. They'll also benefit from a 33 inch seat pitch together with a complimentary meal service including water, coffee and tea. Alternatively, the spacious Star Class upgrade option offers seats with an expansive 44 inch seat pitch laid out in a 2-3-2 seat configuration. By upgrading to Star Class, passengers can also take advantage of complimentary audio and video entertainment, a choice of complimentary hot meals and snacks, sparkling wine and premium beverages throughout their flight, together with an upgraded cold or hot snack prior to landing. In addition to their carry-on allowance, they'll also be able to check in up to 45kgs of luggage.
Strategically positioned in the heart of Northern Europe, Amsterdam is the perfect springboard from which to plan a European sightseeing vacation and boasts easy transport links to many of the region's 'must see' destinations including Paris, Bruges and London.
President of Sunwing Airlines, Mark Williams commented, "We are delighted to be able to offer this route once more for 2015 and provide our customers with a convenient option to explore Europe over the summer months. We have also reintroduced our popular Montreal-Paris service which was similarly well received during summer 2014."

Hmmm as someone with time in both C-FICU and Boeing products I'll take the 787 any day, thanks.

But it would be nice if a YYZ-AMS pairing was operated by a Canadian crew.

Interesting... time in C-FICU... was that with CGAA or under Bob and CCI?

My point being these charter operators maximize the seat count and discomfort to pax in economy no matter how big, shiny, new, or spiffy the jet is.

Do people not realize that Sunwing only sells the tickets and the flights are operated by a Euro low cost charter carrier?

You don't fly with Sunwing or Canadian pilots.

I think what you meant was AC will....

MONTREAL, Sept. 25, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Air Canada announced today it will introduce year-round mainline service to Amsterdam from Toronto beginning in June 2015 as part of the continuing expansion of its international network.

However, comparing AC mainline to Rouge, Westjet and Sunwing is not apples to apples.

Yeah, it's more like comparing potatoes to grapes....but not the nice sweet grapes, more like the ones that are early and bitter but will be better with time. And the potatoes aren't Russets, they're the small ones that are good with stews but not that filling on their own unless you eat like 25.

Sure, "does"/"will" whatever, just another option...
