Free online PPL practice exams

Post by Phono »

Are there any free online PPL practice exams?

I have come across a few for the PSTAR, but not for any other exams.

I'm looking for sample questions of those found on the PPL written exam. Either onscreen or printable.
The TC Civil Aviation Sample Examination was good but I'm looking for more to practice.

Any info or links would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Nothing that I could ever dig up for free. In reality if you cover all the required study items in CARs you will be fine. PPL is straight forward, but being your first true big test in aviation it might become more intimidating. Harv's Air has an online ground school, cant remember the cost now, but it has a bunch of quizzes and practice exams. They are great in my opinion, because they let you see how well you would do on the exam. When you see over 80% it calms your soul :)

Harv's Air is great, but if you have already paid for groundschool it might not make the most financial sense. There are also a bunch of apps that also have practice questions. I still find the price a little steep. Then again, everything in aviation is a little steep. I went in to my PPAER having done groundschool/TC online practice/FTGU sample exam and got around 80.

I went into my CPAER with only pilottraining.ca (harv's air) and got 90%, go figure.

Not free, but very reasonably priced, and you can pick individual subjects to focus on.

I almost forgot to mention: There is some free content here, in the form of information about the exam structure and multiple choice strategies. Also, at least one free sample exam will be forthcoming in the future. Enjoy!

Try http://www.aerotraining.com
They have quizzes pet topic but nothing like a full exam.. I've not used it myself but I recommend it quite regularly to my students.. The quizzes are of various difficulty levels.. You've got to get 90% on the lowest level to advance to the next level... When you finish a quiz they send you an email saying which ones were wrong and give you reference to their material (they gotta sell books you know!). But you can refer the FTGU for the answers or knowledge.. Let's you take only 3-4 attempts pet day I think! But I've had students day that after this one, the real thing was super easy!
