First it was Airbus 318/319 - then it was 737 700's - now it's supposed to be 737-400's
Good grief!

To my knowledge, there's no correlation between Flair and Canada Jetlines. If there is this is the first I've heard of it. Flair is one of the better pay/lifestyle narrow body jet gigs you can score if your desire isn't WestJet or Air Canada. It's most likely one of the better 705 turboprop gigs available as far as pay/lifestyle/flow through to the jets.FL020 wrote:That's because Flair will start em up!! Ulc to the max!
So did they get the money or not ? Or do they just extend the "deadline" again ?Inovent and Jetlines also announce that they have amended the definitive amalgamation agreement (the “Agreement”) in respect of the Transaction to extend the outside date for completion of the Transaction to January 31, 2015.

Flair would have to completely disassociate itself with KFC if it went that direction. BL knows where his bread is buttered and he won't risk losing WJ business over this.loopa wrote:To my knowledge, there's no correlation between Flair and Canada Jetlines. I think working 10-15 days, making good coin, and being home almost every night is something that's pretty hard to beat. O/T starts at credit hours more favourable than the majors which generally adds up to anything over 15 days = OT. Great vacation package. Most of us have all of Christmas and all of new years off. Ultimately, the above seems to be what people chase after regardless of what paint scheme is coloured on the side of your plane and whether you're going to mmun or cal4 for the 20th time. The company is far from perfect, but the grass is greener here for the right individual.
I guess the only question mark would be what happens after 10 years when the Shell contract ends. But who knows, in 10 years aviation will be as different of a place as it was 10 years ago when none of the Jazz pilot's ever imagined the light of day would come when Georgian and Sky Regional would be doing their flying out east. Or I guess Shell pilot's and Flair's takeover.
The term "better" however is a purely subjective term that varies between each individual. What I may think is better doesn't have to coincide with what any one else thinks. But generally Flair is a good place to be which are also sentiments shared by the majority of the flight crew (including ex shell pilot's). You will have the odd duck that doesn't like it, was pfo'd, or fired, but you find those people anywhere.
Just trying to put an end to what seems like a purely speculated comment by FL020 about Flair and Jetlines having any correlation; specifically with regards to Flair being ULC. There isn't room for this kind of lifestyle and pay at a ULC FL020. Look at the us regionals. That's much closer to what ULC is like. Knock on wood none of us lives in a camper at the at the budget parking lot here in YLW or YYC operating on min rest. Or barely able to pay the bills sitting reserve in ORD and playing guitar on North Michigan Ave for coins.

February 06, 2015
Canada Jetlines Ltd. (“Jetlines”) announces that it has terminated the previously announced amalgamation agreement dated September 12, 2014, as amended, with Inovent Capital Inc. (“Inovent”) (TSX-V: IVQ.P).
Jetlines will continue to pursue its business and growth objectives and the opportunities that are available to it.
“We continue to believe that our business model represents an attractive value proposition for both investors and price-sensitive passengers and this is supported by parties that we have spoken to. This is an exciting time for Jetlines as we take aggressive steps to change the face of the industry. Jetlines will pursue other compelling opportunities available to it and we look forward to commencing operations in the near term.” said Jim Scott, Chief Executive Officer of Jetlines.
About Canada Jetlines
Jetlines plans to launch an airline in Canada in 2015 that applies Ultra-Low Cost Carrier operating principles with a focus on stimulating passenger demand through low cost airfares, and generating revenue from the sale of ancillary products and services onboard its aircraft. Jetlines intends to select routes which avoid direct competition with existing carriers in Canada and focus on cost discipline in order to keep operating costs low.

Is this suppose to attract investors, or scare them off???

B737MAX should be interesting when operated into the likes of Penticton... Flin Flon... etc...
Is there really a market for a CYVR-CYYF-CYEG run when WJ offers similar service out of YLW?
Thoughts?

Thats Inovents side of the story. The people at Jetlines are not rank amateurs. Mind you, they will never have the expertise of Avcanada poster. It will be interesting to hear the other side of the story.midwingcrisis wrote:Jetlines Breaches Amalgamation Agreement - $50 Million Financing Not Proceeding - Termination Notice Rejected

Oh please.....you've been drinking too much of their coolaid. Or perhaps your one of the directors? So blinded by your own short sightedness. The people at Jetlines are not rank amateurs

Offer your services. Be sure to mention that you're a no it all. They'll be impressed.boeingboy wrote:Oh please.....you've been drinking too much of their coolaid. Or perhaps your one of the directors? So blinded by your own short sightedness. The people at Jetlines are not rank amateurs
As was mentioned - the ULCC model will NEVER work in this country.
I did have a laugh though when I read through the directors bios. One of them was actually an investor in Oasis! Another company that clearly had no chance to suceed even before they took off.....and most people knew that. Once I read that - it was game over.
Experts my a$$.
