Need help!

Post by jacques »

Bonjour,

About Me: I'm from the south west of France, a former airline pilot who lost my class 1 due to a domestic accident.

I have since recovered but the class 1 is no more possible here in France. I tried, but it's very complicated to modify an administrative decision even if health is ok.

I di a Class 1 in another European country, saying nothing and it was good but not valid to the French descision. Same for the FAA Class 1 that I did : OK.

I looked to pass an FAA ATP, but the new theoretical and practical constraints are dissuasive.

Having landed my former office (B747/400) several times at Trudeau and having spent in 98 a CRJ type rating there, I thought of a Transport Canada ATPL .

To sum up my experience in aviation: 15,500 hours, qualified BE90 / 100/200, Metroliner, BAe31, G1, ATR42 / 72, GRJ100, B747 / 100/300/400 / freight, TRI, TRE. FO and Captain Hours.

I have requested and obtained a license validation to TC (Foreign Licence Validation Certificate, no passenger carrying for hire or reward, private recreational purpose on Canadian registered aircraft in accordance with the privilèges of the France licence no. xxxxx ) to be able to come flying in Canada.

I want to move to a full ATPL.

I understood that I have to pass a Class 1, then both SAMRA, SARON and INRAT for IFR. Then it is here I am in doubt: I must pass an IFR flight test on a multi engine.

A recent test abroad (France for my renewal IR / multiengine)is it ok or must I do one in Canada?

Do I request the Aviation Document Booklet now or after all theorical and flight test?

Then do I need a student visa to pass theorical examinations and if necessary the IFR flight test?

Finally, I want to say that this is not to work in Canada and take the job of Canadian pilots, but to give me the possibility of finding an unrestricted license, also seeking FAA ATP accounted.

Do you have any tips on books to buy for these three exams (or Internet courses) schools (preferably small) accepting a soft training to pass the IFR flight test and or to pass written exams, booklet, etc. ...

Thank you in advance for your help!

You really need to get written guidance from TC about any conversion requirements. Ask them what they require, then follow that. Nobody here is really qualified to help.
