I did this.
You will be applying for a Class 4 flight instructor rating in Canada (thats where they start). Unless things have changed since I did it, the CARS say 30hrs of flight training and 25hrs of ground training. The CARS also say if you hold a flight instructor rating in another contracting state (ie your CFI) than you can credit it towards HALF of the requirements. So you will still need to do 15hrs of Flying and 12.5hrs of Breifings and than an exam with a TC examiner.
Now all this is of course assuming you already have your other Canadian Licenses. Are you a Canadian who went to school in the US or do you just have FAA licenses period?

Commercial exam
The check ride is very easy and straitght forward. http://www.tc.gc.ca has the sylabus of what they check for. It normally requires an hour on the ground, and then about 1.5 in the air. I just passed the test about three months ago, so its still fresh in my mind. There is also a written that you have to do, that is the hard part. Unlike the Faa version, there are no studyguides for the written commercial. Contact me if you have other questions.
