On a scout, how do these compare performance wise?

My impression is that Wips are very pretty looking boat anchors with flat tops and lots of storage in most installations when compared with Edos and Caps.

Have never run a Scout but would think you could stand a little more float than the 2000's. We have run most everything but Whips on Huskys and Cubs. The Baumanns and Aerocets are our favorite. The extra floatation and big compartments are great.
Some comments on this thread about Aerocet and a cub taxing nose low in the water but we have had 2200s since they first came out and never noticed any problem that way even in some extreme conditions. Because you have so much rear floatation they sit high at the back. You might find a set of Edo 2130's with Scout gear which would be fine.

If your scout is OM or homebuilt, we have 2250's which are a deepend 2000 (same rigging) make's a 172 a 4 place with full fuel. Awesome performance.

I have never flown a Scout with Wips but have flown the small Wips on other planes. In general I found the Wips are a more forgiving float and have a bit more Vee so they do better in rougher water, than the Edo 2000. The downside is they are not as rugged and are much more prone to dock rash

I've flown a Scout on Edos for a bit. Great float on a fun little plane. Will haul a legal load with no problem. If you wanted better STOL performance, you will need a helicopter.
