A buddy of mine got a call today, but he's got lots of 37 time.

Awesome!!! I'm guessing they will take advantage of all the Canjet type rated guys first or anyone with a 737 type wanting to come home from overseas. Only makes sense. I have plenty of transport category jet PIC time, but no 737 type rating. Keeping my figures crossed.
I wondering if I should apply for the part time and seasonal position in hopes I will get a full time position towards the end of the 2015/2016 season.
I'm really not sure how it works. If anyone can explain that would be great.
Regards
Re: Sunwing?
I have a 73B type rating, for whatever that's worth. Not a whole lot on type though. Here is hoping for a call.
Re: Sunwing?
I will try to explain how the seasonal/permanent works.
The permanent positions they are hiring for now are to cover existing flying, starting this summer season. The seasonal positons are to cover flying for next winter season, which is already planned. If the following summer calls for expantion, those seasonal positions will become permanent.
I can't say anything specific about summer 2016, but there are expantion plans for a foreseeable future, also, ever since they started the seasonal FOs program it worked awesome for all and every seasonal FO was offered a permanent position. Some of the very first batch is already upgrading now.
Hope it helps.

Re: Sunwing?
Me in my friends hovering around 3-5000 TT with 705 time are not getting any calls.
I assume the 28 permanent spots will be taken by high time guys.
Care to elaborate on the interviewees resumes by any chance? The usual, TT/Jet time. Thanks

Re: Sunwing?
Canjet announced layoffs recently, so it would only make sense to pick them up first, all they have to learn is a new callsign.
But those without jet time will get their shot as well, if not now, then in the summer, for the seasonal hiring.
I understand, permanent is better, but you can't blame them for grabbing the type rated guys first.

I'm sure the guys who were part time would get a go first

Re: Sunwing?
Anybody heard back from SW yet after last week round of interviews? GS planned for late april still in the works?
Re: Sunwing?
Back to the purpose of this thread, does anyone have any insight as to why the jobs were reposted? Not enough applicants? Not enough experienced applicants? Hoping to get some type rated people to apply?

Re: Sunwing?
So what's going on at Sunwing, why did they repost for 28 full time spots? The post mentions a start date in April !!!
I thought all the calls have gone out already for those spots !!
