Cessna floatplane ventral fin

Hey everybody,

Just looking for people's opinions on ventral fins for something like a 172XP... Will you notice that much of a difference in lateral stability with it installed? Also, with the smaller rudder on the XP, is it going to make turning out of the wind more difficult than it already can be in that plane?

I believe it is required per the float stc. not having it may or may not void your c of a

The XP only calls for it on PK 2300. Smaller tail turns easier out of the wind.
