Sorry to have insulted you flashpoint. It is damn hard waiting for something that seemed so close. My point is that to the airline where a new hire pilot came from- hiring pool, regional flow agreement, nepotism, doesn't matter as long as the seat is filled. There is nothing fair about it but on the bright side experiencing the hiring process merely prepares you better for the actual job. Its a great job but it takes a certain type to just accept that one has no control over it, generally speaking.

I guess one of the ground schools started yesterday, anybody know final numbers for the ground school, as well as how many came from Jazz?

I realize something was posted a week or so back, but it always seems to be that numbers change in the last few days, I'm just curious as to what they ended up with.

Lots of Jazzers going over. Average age close to 50. Average time spent in the industry over 25 years.

Will easily be the most experienced Initial Course that AC has ever run.

Nobody Cares About You, aka working for a big corporation. I kinda felt guilty about my post a few weeks ago but when I saw this I thought of y'all. It's not personal.

Apparently the two March courses and the one April course has been filled,4 poolies in each course. 40 poolies remaining in the pool.

An update was sent to the pool today from AC.

Nothing really groundbreaking, there are two courses in March (one already begun) of 19 new hires each, and another one of 10 planned to start April 13th for a total of 48 pilots. 9 non-Jazz pilots are on the courses, all of whom have been notified. They have also said they cannot provide any indication where anybody sits in the pool.

No more courses are being planned at this point moving forward.

There are hundreds of Jazz pilots that are on the PML that need to be interviewed and if necessary, sent for an AC medical. Allowing for 6 interviews per day and a realistic interview schedule of just 2 days per week and a likely lull during the summer months, that process alone will take a year or perhaps even longer.

Just out of curiosity, do the pilots on the Jazz PML have to go through the pilot screening like the OTS pilots are required (Psych Eval,Cog,etc.)?

Why/Why Not?

Thoughts?

That won't happen for a couple more years. They are going to exhaust the Jazz PML list before it opens to other feeders.

I've heard it was a flat bid with next to no vacancies for new hires, but I don't get those emails so I'm not 100% sure.

It would make sense since they're getting rid of Embraers starting with this bid though.

Just as in farming, aviation is always about things being better next year.

Talk about being in the doldrums, hiring at AC drives movement for the rest of the industry but not for the past year... its literally died.
