Ya cheap gas, how horrible, sure makes one long for the good ol' days of $140 a barrel

Re: Contrail Requirements
Well based on the fact gas prices haven't really dropped to mirror the price of oil I'd rather it be more again and have lots of jobs for everyone. We saw gas for a day or two down at $0.99 in Vancouver but it quickly went back up to $1.30ish.

by "everyone" you I assume you mean only "everyone" that flies for the oil industry? Because for every other pilot out there (the vast majority), lower oil prices leads to more job opportunities.awitzke wrote:Well based on the fact gas prices haven't really dropped to mirror the price of oil I'd rather it be more again and have lots of jobs for everyone. Really Joe, like who? You do realise the Canadian economy is about to contract?
Re: Contrail Requirements
Yeah more jobs, that's why the BoC dropped interest rates and expected an "atrocious" quarter..because lower oil prices are helping Canada as a whole so much.Joe Blow Schmo wrote:by "everyone" you I assume you mean only "everyone" that flies for the oil industry? Lower oil and interest rates = tanked Canadian $ in case you have noticed. Most airlines pay a significant portion of their bills in USD hence negating cheaper fuel costs. When many of your passengers stop flying due to poor economic conditions, it doesn't help your bottom line much. I'm pretty sure $80+ oil would be a win for pretty much everyone except the tree huggin', dirt munchin' Alberta haters out there.
