ST-360 altitude pre selecect

Post by Vlakvark »

Im trying to get my ST-360 pre select altitude capture by the stec55x .I cannot get the ALT and VS to activate at the same time. So I keep busting altitudes cause the autopilot is not capturing the altitude. Any suggestions.

It is impossible for an autopilot to be in altitude hold and vertical speed mode at the same time. That is why it isn't working.

If want want to climb/descent to a selected altitude, first select the altitude in the alerter. Then press VS and dial up the VS that you want. The autopilot will automatically capture your selected altitude and then change to altitude hold mode automatically.

Maybe RTFM?

The Altitude needs to be "Armed"

It has been a while, hit ALT put in the desired altitude, you will see ENT in the top left, the key is it has to say ALT SEL and ENT has to disappear, or else it isn't "Armed". Now this is where I am rusty, if I remember correctly after you have entered the altitude you need to hit the ALT button again, the ENT will disappear and ALT SEL will be on the bottom left.

at that point hit VS and put in the desired climb or descent rate.
