Who's selling all the 737 type ratings?
So part of my job is sorting resumes and lately I feel like I've been seeing more and more of this: 208 TT, 737 Type Rating. My company doesn't fly 737s, in fact you could probably break down our fleet and load them into a couple 737s so the rating itself is useless to me. I'm guessing the experience level isn't much help with WestJet and Sun Wing, so how are these marketing geniuses pulling this off?

All of them had a Canadian address in their resume ?

Hmm.. even if they did have a 737 rating, why would they put it on their resume? Seems ill advised to put something that obvious that you paid for it on an application for a company that doesn't even fly them?
That being said there was a guy from my flight school who got a 757 and 767 type rating and flies in China/Taiwan or something now. But he only got that job because his dad worked there... so there's that.

I do get resumes from all over the world but I should have specified there's a growing number of entry level Canadian pilots typed on the 737. Weird, eh?TG wrote:All of them had a Canadian address in their resume ?

I know one individual that spent a butt load of money to buy a A320 type rating. In the end he was successful in getting a job, flying a FALCON 10.
Money well spent if you ask me
