Why is it not a friendly place for pistons aircraft?
How do you go 205 kts TAS on 32 gal/hr without turbos!
Re: Fatal crash in northern Quebec
Not much 100LL available
From what I understand they did cyvo - cygl (refueled and took some extra fuel).
Cygl - cykg that is plus 800 nm in an Aztec.
From what I can read it was foggy (no ils approaches around (except cyvp) only non-precision) and not many places to get 100LL.

Re: Fatal crash in northern Quebec
Firstly, condolences to all the families. I have know the pilot for a few years. He ferried my plane from Barrie to Winnipeg a couple of years ago. He had well in excess of 14,000 hours. He was a very young man for his age. I can hardly believe that this happened to him. Bob trained me on my 206 on amphibs and on straight floats. Never in all the flying I did with him did he ever take a chance. I find this so totally out of character for him.
