Hi Niss,
The Central Base in the plaque refers to the Ontario Provincial Air Service Base that was located in Sault Ste. Marie and now houses the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre on the downtown waterfront. So you have contacted the right people, lol! The plaques were given to many provincial offices and bases located throughout the province as a commemoration of the establishment of the original Air Base. We have about a dozen or more of these and people still bring them in fairly regularly (we do not accept any more). If there is anything else you would like to know feel free to ask. Our website has a large amount of info on the Air Service you could look there for more info.
Many Thanks,
Best Regards.
