Thread disappeared?
Funny... I'm sure there was a thread on here about a certain air operator that flies 1900's and a few recycled CRJ's out of YYZ under a "CPA" with a certain major Canadian airline. Can anyone explain where it might have disappeared to? Locked threads on here don't surprise me, but a vanishing one means someone has concerns about something...
Hilarious.

Re: Thread disappeared?
I received a private message from a moderator that user "ggn" made a complaint that my post contained slanderous information. I assure everyone it did not. If user "ggn" feels like refuting information he/she is free to do so.
I guess censorship wins again.

Re: Thread disappeared?
By definition it couldn't possible be slanderous. Perhaps he meant libellous?
DId you hear the one about the jurisprudence fetishist? He got off on a technicality.

It's the new generation. They feel they have the right to go through life without being offended by anything.

Knowledge is power and that-certain-POS-CPA-airline does not want the truth to get out about how poor it actually is. Imagine if passengers knew the truth
Re: Thread disappeared?
Thats too bad. I know there was a certain user who was called out for being at Jazz with a GGN RJ interview. Me thinks they were of the group that got fired last week for poor attitude. Makes sense they'd end up at GGN

Bing Bong, that's a very poor assumption and if you knew anything about that posters history, you would know he was probably just dealt a very difficult blow completely unrelated to any air carrier. He no doubt made a life decision that didn't pan out.

Either way you shake it...he/she had to leave Jazz for something and take a scab job. If it was for any personal reason Jazz would have bent over backwards for them to help get them through it. So don't troll me that line.

Re: Thread disappeared?
I actually know why he left jazz. No assumption there. There is only one possible reason why he is in need of a new employer at the moment and I feel for the guy. He took a leap and it didn't pan out, so now he needs to keep a roof over his head and food on the table for his family.
Do I agree with someone going to work there? It Doesn't matter what I think nor does it matter what you think of his situation! Would I do it? Nope, but I'm not in his situation.
Rememebr the old saying, everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about!

DingDong I wonder if you're as brave in person as you are behind a computer screen....
And before you say I'm one to talk, if you're ever in my city, I'll meet anyone on here anytime they ask. I don't have to hide like a troll

So can you offer the rest of us some guidance if we find ourselves in a similar situation.Either way you shake it...he/she had to leave Jazz for something and take a scab job. What's the BingBong morally acceptable course of action here.
Collect EI and sit at home waiting for the phone to ring?
Get a job as a Walmart greeter and default on your mortgage payments?
It sounds like you have a problem with anybody that decides to quit Jazz to better their career, for some it works out and others it might not. As far as Jazz bending over backwards to help, obviously you haven't had the experience of asking Jazz management for assistance.
Re: Thread disappeared?
A group of pilots got fired from Jazz? Why? What about their union for defense?BingBong wrote:Thats too bad. More details please.
Re: Thread disappeared?
I think it was new hires who didn't pass their training.
DEI = Didn’t Earn It
Re: Thread disappeared?
The talent pool is shrinking. And the carriers that are offering the least will get the least experienced applicants hence potential training difficulties.
Poverty level entry wages and a (possible) airline interview will not attract the cream of the crop from a rapidly shrinking supply chain. Welcome to the new world.

Too true...maybe too late for those of us who've been at this awhile though. The last thing they are going to do is increase pay and conditions to attract talent until either they can't find a body to occupy the seat or a Colgan incident happens to draw attention to the issue.

Re: Thread disappeared?
I'm flying at a 705 company with over 3000hr. I can say I'm at least a competent pilot. I applied at Jazz many times in the last 3 years but only finally got the call 3 months ago after the new agreement and pay scale. I agreed to do the interview, but after thinking about it and discussing with the wife we decided it was not a good move and could not take that pay cut. I decided to not even do the interview. If a company wants experienced pilots they should pay a livable wage. Usually experienced pilots are at LEAST in their late twenties with maybe a wife and mortgage.

Thanks for the support Stinky, Rooster and cdnpilot77. Yes I did leave Jazz to try something else and give my family a better life, but it didn't pan out.
And for BingBong, you can know that there is one fewer "Scab" pilot out there. After a lot of hard thinking I've decided to decline the interview due to the poor pay-scale. There are other opportunities out there.

Re: Thread disappeared?
Shit. Looks like you got CT? I'm not going to get started on that stupidity. Lots of companies hiring. Transat just opened up for direct entry seasonal captains. Sunwing is hiring up to 60. Much better jobs then ggn.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Best of luck DHC, if you're in YYC and looking for work, give me a shout and I'll give you a company tour and put you in touch with the powers-of-be.

Thanks a lot everybody for the kind words! Already have some nibbles on the job hunt.
CT means "Cease Trained" or "Ceased Training."

Re: Thread disappeared?
Why leave Jazz to try something better for the family. Jazz has decent pay, reasonable schedule, a pension and bases in different areas of the country. And you can transition to AC eventually. If not, you can fly the props or the jets to many destinations.DHC-1 Jockey wrote: Yes I did leave Jazz to try something else and give my family a better life, but it didn't pan out.
