Latest GS and aircraft

Post by flyingpilot9 »

Hi there, does anyone know the latest GS equipment and bases that were available for the July 20th GS, I am just in the pool. If someone could provide feedback that would be awesome, thanks.

I don't know the answer to your question, however if someone who does also knows where there is a break down of what a/c are operated at what bases could they post that too?

Didn't really want to make a second thread just for that.

Does YVR hold any Q400 jobs? Or all -100/-300?

Although I imagine with the increase in the Q's we'll seem more of them all over Canada...

Hi folks.

So just curious, there's a GS on August 10th as well?
I'm currently in the pool but haven't got a call back yet.
Does anyone know how long sim and ground school is?
Or the timeline for training? Thanks for the info folks.

Cheers,

That's the company's acronym for the Q400. It's still a -8 I guess but definitely not built by Dehaviland Canada (DH).

Latest equipment bid shows DH8 classic reductions in YYC and YYZ although even more expansion of DH8-400 at both those basis for a net increase in positions.

All other types and bases were unchanged.

Curious. If someone were to be hired there say within the next year, what would be the best machine to bid onto to get a chance to move back to Vancouver if not the -300? AFAIK they only operate the -100's and -300's there. But with the reductions on the classic and increase in Q's in the fleet.. what are the future plans to put Q's in YVR? Anyone on the inside have an idea what the future plans are for YVR?

100 (for now) and 300s in YVR...if that base even survives (time will tell but I bet by 2025 it is gone).
YYC will be the super base in the west. I highly doubt you would see any Q/growth in YVR. On the plus side YYC-YVR is a pretty easy commute.

Same goes for YUL...I forsee mostly of not all classic airline out of YUL and those RJs moving to YYZ.

Upintheair...

...if you really want to be based in YVR, I hope you get the DH8 in the initial bid. You cannot change equipment for 3 years now! In YVR you would be bottom of the seniority for a very long time! YYC is an easy commute and you will be top of the seniority very quick...and will still do lots of flying in and out of YVR.

...you are smoking a bong if you think all Classics will be based in YUL and the RJs handed to YYZ! As for Q4s in YVR and YUL, for sure they won't see any in those bases!

What's in your crystal ball for Jive?

You are wrong.

If CHR ends up running 2 AOC's for the AC Express flying then it is entirely likely that the Classics (and associated crews) will be isolated by Base and that certainly opens the possibility of YVR/YUL as single type/single AOC bases.

Only time will tell.

Like I said. YVR (if it even remains open). YYC and YYZ super bases, YUL Jive.

That's my prediction...I'll eat my hat if it doesn't happen.

You would never see the Q based in YUL due to the fact that it cannot effectively operate into the destinations Jazz services out of YUL. I took the Q into Bathurst two years ago and my butthole is just now unclenching. As far as the RJs leaving YUL...don't forget we ARE losing the 200's over time. It won't make sense to base one or two 705 in YUL (unless the roumors of large 705 orders is true...fingers crossed) so that is why they would be shifted to YYZ and operated out of there. Totally feasible as on the RJ we already span multiple bases in a four dayer.

If the Q was going to go anywhere else I woulda put a few in YHZ but...look how that place turned out.

Like I said this is all my opinion but I think it's a logical
One.

Cheers!
