If this is truly their hiring modus operandi, then they are asking for trouble and alienating a lot of potential candidates.TrailerParkBoy wrote:I formally apologize to those applying with actual experience that are not being called for interviews.
Unfortunately, you have too much experience and deserve a better salary. We will hire pilots with NO experience first, then once we exhaust the NO experience pool of pilots, we will hire the pilots WITH experience, probably with the same low salary.
Its a crazy industry

Kosiw.
Unfortunately, experience costs too much and the "New Business Model" seems to seek pilots who will be happy making $36000 per year!
I know for a fact that there were 3 pilots with great experience who never got interviews at Jazz, yet offers of employment with Sky Regional, Encore, and for the love of God, Georgian!

Anybody know when or if there will be any hiring in the near future? Has the music stopped for a while?

Hi ******, our normal hiring comes from pilots with approximately 2500-3000 hours with over 1000 hours in multi-engine-turbine aircraft. The basic standard however is 1500TT with 500 MPIC and an ATPL. Preference is for candidates who have completed an Aviation degree or Diploma.
...........
May you ask the horse why someone with 3900 hrs and 2500 pic BE20 with diploma isn't getting an offer

Re: Any hiring news??
Our management wants all pilots to work their regular schedule, then do extra overtime work. Pilots with experience, probably have a life outside of work (which is a very healthy thing to have).
Low time pilots are young and ambitious and can fly a lot of their days off!
It's a poor formula for an Airline that will have lots of turn over in the coming years!

Poor formula for some people but what I hope to use to my advantage to gain a leg up in the industry when I have their minimums.

Re: Any hiring news??
From what I have personally witnessed, Jazz has recently hired with experience ranging from only instructing on a C172 and small piston with an ATPL 1600TT, all the way to a Chief Pilot with 7000+TT hours. Both have never worked airlines before. All they really care about are pilots with an ATPL in terms of qualifications on paper. You must also be likeable and ambitious ie. no company hopping or weird gaps in your resume etc.

I will keep applying, A few more king air hours may get me noticed.FOD_Vacuum wrote:From what I have personally witnessed, Jazz has recently hired with experience ranging from only instructing on a C172 and small piston with an ATPL 1600TT, all the way to a Chief Pilot with 7000+TT hours. Yes, stay where you're at for a few more thousand hours will help. Should be able to get that in a year or twoNickyNick wrote:I will keep applying, A few more king air hours may get me noticed.FOD_Vacuum wrote:From what I have personally witnessed, Jazz has recently hired with experience ranging from only instructing on a C172 and small piston with an ATPL 1600TT, all the way to a Chief Pilot with 7000+TT hours. Re: Any hiring news??
Good advice. Nothing screams "hire me" more than 4000 hours on one aircraft at one company.
Re: Any hiring news??
Anyone know how many pilots Jazz will hiring in the next 6 - 12 months ?

Post this topic on AC...what they need to hire, take 80% of that number and then add 5 to it to get the magic number.
