Price for 100 LL
I am planning a long trip through Canada and AK. I was wondering what 100LL is selling for at a variety of locations so I can estimate a budget.
Wondering if staying in the States for as long as possible will be cheaper vs. the exchange rate. 1$US=1.30 Canadian as of today.
Flying from MN. though Manitoba with stops likely near Sask. and Whitecourt, Dawson Creek and then Mackenzie, Watson Lk, and Whitehorse.
Thanks!

Check out http://www.airnav.com on the section about gas prices and you can compare all the airports along the route.
You can also find good deals like $2 a gal.

Depending on the site in southern Ontario 1.15 - 1.30 per litre but I haven't had to buy it in awhile. The larger airports (ie Ottawa, Montreal) charge about 0.20 more per litre due the higher costs at the FBO. I would fuel in "smaller places" like Kingston, Waterloo, Windsor....

Unity, SK - the Unity Flying Club sells it to non members for 0.88/ L and 0.86/L for members. Its rediculous. Unity is only 90 miles west of Saskatoon. They are friendly and happy to see you... if they step out call the cell number on the wall they will be there in 5. Great stop for flights nice 3000' paved strip.
Happy flying,

I would say that $1.26 is about the going rate for the bigger (City or TC) owned airports. The smaller airports where you buy from the local flying club is generaly around $1.00. sometimes that includes GST. The down side is you usually have to wait for them to come to the airport, but I've never found that to be a huge problem.
Just got fuel in Golden, BC on Friday - it's $1.23. Kind of steep but it's hard to get through the mountains without it.
And besides it's worth it to get views like this....
highway 93 north to Jasper from over Sask River Crossing

and this....
peaks in the Blaisberry

In Edmonton it's just over a buck.
