Hi guys,
Has anyone travelled back to YYZ from PEK on a pass?
If so, was it easy to get from the ticket counter to the gate after the boarding pass was issued (and before the flight departed).

Unless the flight is wide open, you will not get a seat assignment or a boarding pass until the last minute. Once you do get it, you have to rush to get to your gate. Besides security, theres immigration, as well as a train you'll have to take. It can get challenging, but most people seem to make it.

basically you approach the counter, tell them you are on standby for the flight. they will tell you to come back at certain time.infiniteregulus wrote:Can't just use mobile check-in to get a ticket?
when u return back to the counter and receive a boarding pass, meaning you will likely get on (unless they found out there are broken seats or other airlines transfer their pax to your flight which may bump you off at the gate)
usually they will close counter 60 mins before the flight which should give u enough time to go through screening and immigration.
