I guess they didn't look to see what air traffic controllers make but I guess you may still need that degree south of the border. Not the case in the most of the rest of the world.

That looks like a aircraft maintenance technician inspecting a jet engine on a German designed airplane. I forget the make and model but I believe it was of German design. the landing gear was too short to hang the engines under the wing and rather than mount them on the fuselage, they mounted them in a pedestal above the wing. Honda did something similar with the new HondaJet.

That actually makes a whole pile more sense than mounting them on the fuselage... where the wing to fuselage fittings also have to carry the weight of the engines making zero fuel weight less.

That article is positioning itself as "good news" for people who want a good job but can't get a bachelor's degree because of cost, time, or "other reasons". I can only assume those other reasons include "not smart enough".

It would be really cool if people who were excluded from the world of higher learning for these reasons would also consider themselves ineligible to become nurses, pilots, or A.M.E.s!

"Other reasons" for me were that my college program has a 100% hire rate, vs the student factories that universities have become. After 3 years in college I was into the field before most of the people I did first year university with, making more money than them, and working on the same kind of projects, just from a different angle.

Bailing on university to attend college was the best decision I've made in my adult life.

Me too. My point was that becoming a pilot or AME or nurse, college-trained or otherwise, is liable to cost as much and take as much effort to accomplish as a typical degree anyway, by the time you get a job, so if your motivation to bale on university has to do with money or trying to find an "easier" way to get a decent job, then keep looking.
