edit - clever post Pelmet, but that partyhas left the current policy of in place, so they are no different. When did the ethnic policy begin anyways?
Well as it's in the charter, they'd have a hard time not leaving it there.
Equality before and under law and equal protection and benefit of law
15. (1) Every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability.
Marginal note:Affirmative action programs
(2) Subsection (1) does not preclude any law, program or activity that has as its object the amelioration of conditions of disadvantaged individuals or groups including those that are disadvantaged because of race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability. I was objecting Pelments statement that a
certain party is against race based hiring (employment equity act).
There are certain federal political parties that support the hiring of people based on race. We know which two parties are very much in support of this.
If you don't like the idea of the system assuming that you had more money and therefore more opportunity based on the exclusive factor that you are white, then vote for the party that is not in agreement with this race based system. They can't change the constitution, but they won't encourage racist hiring based quotas like some other parties want to do. like some other parties want to do.
Now a quick google shows
that party with a history of support and implementation of the employment equity act.

Laws can be changed or modified like this one has over the years, if
that party really wanted to they could modify the current act to not discriminate. Still many federal jobs today "encourage" anyone who isn't a non disability white to apply. Isn't it a given in today's world that any job is open to all based on qualifications/ability to do the job? Is it really necessary to have that line written in all job ads? This is 2015, Canada, not 1935 Germany....
