C&P
As a continuation of our pavement repair program, Runways 12-30 and
05-23 will be closed on Thursday, October 8th, 2015 from 9:00am until
7:00pm. The weather is looking good for this day but we have
tentatively scheduled the rain date for Friday, October 9th, 2015 with
the same times. As you may have noticed, we have repaired two areas on
either side of the main intersection as a part of this program. Last
winter (2014-2015) these areas were creating hazards to arriving and
departing aircraft due to the frost heaving of the pavement.
Thursday's work will include sealing cracks which prevents moisture
from entering through these cracks, freezing under below zero
temperatures and potentially causing the pavement to heave. This
pavement maintenance program will create a safer environment for
pilots and aircraft for the 2015-2016 winter season and subsequent
winters.

We appreciate your patience while we conduct this mandatory
maintenance. We understand that the closure of runways impacts
commercial and private aircraft operations. Please take the necessary
actions to accommodate for these closures which could include locating
your aircraft at an alternate airport during the closure period.
Up-to-date information regarding runway closures can be found on the
Nav Canada website.
