Wannabe startup - Zing Airlines
Has anyone heard of these guys?
http://www.zingairlines.com/
Seems like a pretty big pipe dream to me. Based out of CYQM, with a couple of young guys who think photoshoping some C Series pictures and a making a crowd funding campaign will convince investors. Good Luck fellas.... Jetlines has a million times more business and aviation experience and they will probably never leave the ground. Wheres Kevin O'leary at to kill these ideas?

Re: Wannabe startup - Zing Airlines
Oh for fucks sakes, enough with the stupid one-word non-sequitur airline names already. What do we have now: Jazz, Tango, Rouge, Rap, Fap, Clap, Zap, Zip, Zing, Ping, Ting, Bling, Bloop, Blorp, Blap, Wap, Wink, Wank....Jesus Christ.
The FIRST ONE was the douchey brainchild of some fashion-school asshole with tight pants and a "flock of seagulls" haircut and a lisp, and the rest of them are just copycat-douchey which is ten times worse.
How I long for the days when planes had sensible, tasteful paint jobs and sensible, dignified names!

Meat, you are absolutely on fire lately....love the 'passion' or is that 'dispassion'?
I don't know, I'm trying not to use just one word.

Re: Wannabe startup - Zing Airlines
............I'm really at a loss for words. This guy is a certified ding-bat.At its maximum, we envision dethroning WestJet as Canada’s #2 carrier; it is our opinion that their fleet is a mismatch for the skies of Canada given the advent of the CSeries. Their over dependence on the foreign made 737 was their greatest strength and we intend on making it their greatest weakness.

Navigation Canada?Ben de Mendonca, Co-Founder
His work with the province has given him a solid understanding of logistics
planning for aviation professionals to optimize the use of resources. He has a
broad understanding of Navigation Canada functions and operational
considerations for safe travel within Canada.

This is too funny.

Re: Wannabe startup - Zing Airlines
Zing Airlines....might work - they just need to keep the name, have a waving gold cat sitting at the front of every cabin, and advertise like hell in Richmond BC.
Re: Wannabe startup - Zing Airlines
Can I short the stock yet? Can't wait for Uber, Air BnB.....Zing........

It must be for real. The founder even has a degree in "Industrial Engineeing"!

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I'd totally fly on Blorp Air.Meatservo wrote:Blorp

Agreed. It seems like there are only two types of airline personalities. Professional carriers, or happy-go-lucky-and-everything-is-awesome carriers. Personally, I like and prefer, professional ones.

Courage is the price that life exacts for granting peace. The soul that knows it not, knows no release from the little things; knows not the livid loneliness of fear, nor mountain heights where bitter joy can hear the sound of wings.

Re: Wannabe startup - Zing Airlines
Was the C Series even a concept when WestJet was started? He noticed Airlines around the world were 'rightsizing' their planes [1][2][3] to serve their markets better. When WestJet snubbed the CSeries for the 737, a fatal move in Wayne’s opinion, he immediately discussed his idea with industry experts and then launched the Zing Airlines project.

Welcome to Redneck Airlines. We might not get you there but we'll get you close!

Thought so. This whole business plan screams Anything is possible when you don't know what you're talking about.jpilot77 wrote:MCB Said:No it wasn't.Was the C Series even a concept when WestJet was started?

Geez did I say that....? Or just think it....?
Re: Wannabe startup - Zing Airlines
And remember - if you work really hard, you're going to succeed.

Re: Wannabe startup - Zing Airlines
Anyone remember that ADD guy who had no aviation experience that started Morris Air, subsequently selling it to Southwest for a nice profit.
Then he help start WestJet,
Then he started JetBlue,
Then he started Azul, in Brazil.

Fap air! You might be on to something there; combining weird strip clubs with scheduled air service.Meatservo wrote:Oh for fucks sakes, enough with the stupid one-word non-sequitur airline names already. Look, it's f***in Patrick Swayze and Reveen!
Re: Wannabe startup - Zing Airlines
Anyone else read this as pure posturing for someone trying to capitalize on the current C-series situation, or is it too obvious?
Nowhere near as shrewd as Deluce's conditional order.
Oh well guys- only two million, four hundred and ninety nine thousand, two hundred and fifty dollars to go! Keep flapping!*
*I always support and encourage entrepreneurship, especially in aviation, where there are far too many inside-the-box thinkers and pure crab-in-the-bucket negativity towards others who show a glimmer of success. I wish them luck, However, I don't think an airline could succeed while headquartered in their parents basement, even despite the inspiring mastery of the World of Warcraft mural beaming on the wall.

Their crowd sourcing campaign also states they will receive the money regardless of the goal being reached or not.
Re: Wannabe startup - Zing Airlines
They will probably get it.
I'm in the investment business, where the whole world has gone mad. What 7 years of zero interest rates will do.
I know, one of dozens of stories, a start up drug company, a college grad and his mother with no experience, bought the rights to a failed drug from a major firm for 5 million bucks, filed an offering, went public, and is still valued today, after this is all well known, for 1.5 billion.
And lots of analyst buy ratings on it. I kid you not. One of many crazy stories.
