"Turn left 10 degrees"

"Turn left 10 degrees"
When giving the instruction "turn left/right xxx degrees" do controllers care what the new heading will be? I've always read it back as "left ten degrees, should give us about 180" for example. But do you guys and gals as controllers really care?

Speaking only for myself, IFR guys and gals may have a different requirement, if I care what your new heading will be I'll say "turn left 10 degrees and say your heading"...
But generally I don't care what it will be...

Pretty much this. I tend to not care as usually your next heading will be a base turn or something similar. I don't mind if a pilot takes the initiative to tell me his new heading. How about this:
ATC: Slowbird 22 what is your Mach number?
Slowbird 22: What would you like?
ATC: Slowbird 22 I'm still working on that....what is you Mach?
Slowbird 22: 300 knots for the transition...we can go faster!
ATC: (frustrated!) Slowbird 22.....YOUR MACH NUMBER.......I want to know your Mach number!?
Slowbird 22: Mach .786......what would you like?
ATC: United 233 Mach .79 for metering into JFK.
United 233: Mach .79 United 233.
ATC: American 403 Mach .79 for metering into JFK.
American 403: Mach .79 American 403.
ATC: Slowbird 22 no faster than Mach .77 for metering into JFK.
Just answer what ATC asks!

Not really needed...a nicety if you do...but most controllers won't care.
We usually have an idea of what heading you are on anyway just from looking at your track. For controllers that use a lot of vectors...you get the hang of what a certain turn or heading will look like so don't mind if the pilot doesn't report the new heading.
We only care if you read back a turn and then go to something completely different (usually STAR related!).
