Gyrocopter Training

Post by ahramin »

Does anyone know of someone with a 2 seat gyrocopter in Canada who can provide training? Preferably in the West.

I think there's a fellow out of Medicine Hat these days, but I can't remember the name.

There's one in Kitchener but that's only 'out west' if you're from, say, Halifax. I only mention it because last time I checked I think there were only two places in the country doing gyro training.

I believe Mr Larry Ellerman is the Gyro flight instructor in Medicine Hat. There are a couple RAF2000 gyros based at CYXH. I don't know if he has an FTU OC though, so you may have to be able to buy or lease the aicrfact from someone else.

ahramin,

Keep in mind that because of the limited number of gyroplanes and gyroplane instructors in Canada, Transport Canada is very generous with applying credit for training received abroad (perhaps more so than for any other License or Permit). There are numerous instructors in the USA.

There are two fairly well established schools/instructors that I know of in Canada- one is in Ontario and the other is in the Quebec City area.
