Upgrades to Q400 captain in YYZ AND YYC are in the two and a half to three year seniority range.
Pretty amazing.
Congratulations to all!

Congrats to all those upgrading! Most junior YVR CA hired in 2000. The joys of being a west coaster i guess.

That likely won't change, I don't believe too many of those very senior pilots had their name on the PML. You could always commute, otherwise it will be a long wait:)

Rowdy, do you know how it works if there is a classic Cpt who moved to another base to get the upgrade, and then wants to move back to YVR. Do they take priority over a FO upgrading at the base?

If there is an open position it's basically the senior person bidding for it who gets it.

The airline business is seniority seniority seniority. It's been this way for a long time. Vancouver is a senior base for a reason. The people working there have put their time in with the company and have earned a right to be at that base. Vancouver will continue to have slow movement into the future and people should do their research on the particular base they would like to hold prior to accepting an offer of employment.

RXL where did you get this information? I have never flown with a Q400 Captain less than 6 years at the company or so. It will definitely be getting less though over the next few years.

Have a look at the Feb. 2016 equipment bid and the current seniority/position lists.
It's all there in black and white.
