Programming the GPS enroute, YSF - JL4 in GRQG...
What genius put a substance abuse treatment center in La Loche I'll never know..
I had Big Balls for a co-jo, he sang 'Baby Got Back' the whole way...Pretty routine really...
Jeeze. Resurrecting an old thread from the dead. I last posted here in 2006 at only 100 hrs dreaming of hitting 1000. Fast forward a decade....
My first thousand hour milestone was flying a Super Cub, seeding at tree top out of Elliot Lake, Ontario.
My second thousand was broke flying an Ag-Cat, spraying corn out of Lucan, Ontario.
I'm halfway through to my third, with 42 different types flown.

AH the generation gap and how the times change - for me can't remember and back in the day it was only an event when you passed 10,000 hours - at a thousand hours most were still thinking of going to work in their 180 or even a cub and thinking damn only 2 more years and I might get to fly a Noorduyn or if all else fails and I'm not good enough I might fly a Beaver -- how times change
Going into Ft St John in my PA-20 in Jan 1973. That was four and one half years after learning to fly and 1 week after starting my first "bush" job. After that I flew over 1000 hours per year for quite awhile. Where do I want to be? Alive after retirement.
Getting vectored into the ILS at CYOW, simulated single engine with a student after an fire training "shutdown". Was February in Ottawa and the janitrol decided to take the rest of the day off. I was never happier that my apartment building had a grimy electric petri dish of a sauna.
10,000 hrs. Flying a C-206 from CYXS Dec 87.
20,000 hrs. Flying Beaver out of YPW for PCA 1997.
30,000 hrs. Flying GOBC from AC8 to AM9 Feb 12, 2014.
total of 20,000 on floats, mostly Beaver.
I'm very fortunate to be right where I hoped to be. Just passing 1000 hours 10 months into my first job and a year (mar28) from finishing school. Just upgraded from FO to Captain on the Navajo in Northern Ontario.
Awesome thread ! Reading all this makes me even thirstier to eclipse the 1000 hour mark....
Hopefully it's in my 150 heading anywhere with an ice cold beer waiting for me !
First 1000, in a CE206 flying survey over Grand Rapids, MI (KGRR).
Second 1000, in a CE650 somewhere over the Atlantic flying back to Toronto (CYYZ) from North Eleuthra (MYEH).

1000 hours: May 30, 2012. Somewhere between YTH and YWG in the left seat of a PA31.
2000 hours: June 4, 2015. Somewhere between a northern lodge and YWG still in the left seat of a PA31.
Doing other things now, probably won't get to 3000.
