JS,
Your retort seems to be wasted, as the LAST thing I'm doing is whining.
I simply was questioning the job saticfaction that comes with modern airline flying and why so many pilots are so willing to leave decent GA jobs for it. I guess our culture always promtes bigger is better.
As for me, I can do everything you can do with your salary, my time off comes in bulk, I too have seen a fair portion of the planet on someone else's nickle, and usualy more than just the international airport and a hotel. Yet I can guarentee you that my job saticfaction is very high.
If AC is all you ever wanted, great I'm truely happy for you, but the new hire's there or at WJ for that matter, are not lining up at the same trough you get to eat out of - it's a different world out there than when you started. That's all.

Hey Sky
Nothing that I am saying is directed to you personally. I am happy for you and anyone else who enjoys their job and makes a decent living at it.
My response was simply an answer to your question of why so many pilots are so willing to leave GA jobs for modern airline flying. I am simply shedding some positive light on a thread full of complaints. As far as your comment about new hires not lining up at the same trough I get to eat out of, well neither did I when I got hired. What is so different?

Does anyone have a pen and paper so tht I can write this down in my journal....tincanflyer wrote:
boo-hoo..........if you don't like it don't apply with them or get out of the industry, because thats the way its always been and thats the way it will always be.
Anyway, in case you missed it or I didn't make my message of 'inspiration' clear.
It's all good, just keep your shoulders straight and your head up. Follow your conscience and don't bend your dignity and not lose your credibility for anyone or anything.
You'll sleep better at night knowing you've done everything within your energy in becoming a professional in all senses of the word....
"..because FOR ME, thats the way its always been and thats the way it will always be."
Good luck to everyone that applied @ AC.
Fly safe.
