What a great sight and even greater sound!
2 Harvards, tight formation, loops and rolls...Thanks Guys!!

I just hope that Parks Canada isn't waiting for you when you land.

Why would they be waiting for them. Is the Park now restricted airspace.

2000' AGL and below, it is. Which means it's not applicable to aerobatics properly flown without a SFOC.

I've got calls after flying lower than that doing telemetry with Parks.

I'm glad those guys showed up and did what they did. Why is it a Canadian's always runs to the rule book? Its comments like that, that empowers these government power hungry nitwits, please refrain from legitimizing there child like response and enjoy the fact that we live in a free country and maybe the rules are getting a little too tight. Sorry not trying to be rude, just sick of all this Big government and red tape. We are essentially the size of a US state like CA for example and we have 13 Level's of Government and all the admin, not to mention Indian affairs. No wonder were getting taxed out of the air....

yes, there is a 4 lane highway, a couple of ski resorts, a few hundred restaurants, a set or two of train tracks, a dam on a river, with a generator and a set of hydro wires, a gondola for tourists to the top of sulphur mountain (may not be in park) ,a rapidly growing town, that sells mostly maple syrup from Quebec, and T shirts. It also has a "restricted grass runway" that supplies winter feed to a elk herd, but you better not land on it,use it , or fly over it, lest you disturb the natural setting.
Only in Canada....

Comments like what? I live and work in Park and have to abide by the rules, I can't even hang a bird feeder at my house so why do you give me a hard time for questioning the legality of 2 Havards doing aerobatics in the Park? I enjoyed it and wished the guys would come every day but I would imagine that not all would share this sentiment. In a place where they close certain roads in the winter so the cars don't bother the wildlife someone going to put their hand up and comaplain that the Hazards scared a squirrel.

It was the old school yellow ones and whether or not they were aboe 2000'AGL is hard to say and I guess dependends on where you were at the time...if you were on top of Sulphur Mountain, you would be looking down on the planes.

Only thing that matters is 2000agl directly below for acro then normal horizontal spacing as per CARS for normal flight.

Mark, push back a little, hang that bird feeder! These guys don't know best and they have not started printing the Red books yet from Red China. How come the people we put in place to administer the rules, keep getting hung up on the Regulate part?

The Reg to worry about is this one. 602.01 "No person shall operate an aircraft in such a reckless or negligent manner as to endanger or be likely to endanger the life or property of any person."

Since its completely subjective you cannot as a pilot know if others believe you are in violation of it and therfore cant easily avoid it or defend against it if you are doing anything unusual. At least with the 2000ft rule you can use your altimeter, xpdr, gopro etc to proove your height, location horizontal distances etc are within the regs.

Note carefully the wording, "any person" which includes risks to yourself. "Reckless" is usually interpreted as contrary to what a prudent pilot would do.

Lots of leway to get hung on that one!
