Aircraft dropping leaflets over Toronto
Heard on 680 this morning that there was a light GA piston dropping ad leaflets over the city of Toronto. I know the CARs forbid dropping anything that could pose a danger to people or their stuff, but what about this?

The way it is worded is absolutely ingenious. It doesn't say, 'don't drop objects that create a hazard', it effectively says 'don't create a hazard by dropping objects'.CAR 602.23 No person shall create a hazard to persons or property on the surface by dropping an object from an aircraft in flight.
Geez did I say that....? Or just think it....?

At the very least they should be charged with littering.

Any bets on what the subject is? Religious BS is my pick.

It's too early to be a high-school graduation prank, is it? I'd go with either religion or very bold marketing. Seems very much in the style of Uber...

The litter factor seems a bit too idiotic for someone in marketing to overlook, unlike the blind-stupidity of papering a city with your religious beliefs.HiLo wrote:It's too early to be a high-school graduation prank, is it? Fair enough. Other than littering, is this at all illegal (and would the police really go to the pain of tracking down the PIC)?

My wife's cousin picked one up. It's for an Irish massage parlor a couple of doors down from Dora Keogh's pub on Danforth, in Toronto.
The pitch line on the front is "Are ye up for a bit of the craic, lads?" A question to which the answer is seldom "No".

What's an Irish massage parlour? Sounds like a euphemism for something that isn't very pleasant.

They beat the snot outta ya while you drink a Guinness. You leave feeling much worse than when you came in. Worth every penny.CpnCrunch wrote:What's an Irish massage parlour? Sounds like a euphemism for something that isn't very pleasant.

I was just arseing about on a Saturday there, but there are massage parlours in Dublin. Same as anywhere else I guess.
Maybe it "A rub and a pint". It's not that Catholic a country now. Far from it.
Anyways, I made that story up. There isn't a massage parlour down the way from Dora's. Which is a hell of a place for a pint. Spent a bit of time there when I worked out of Buttonville. Great sessions two nights a week. I think one of them is Tuesday.
