Confirmed. Layoff notices have started to go out. Good luck to all effected. First Air is looking for type rated guys and they pay more.
Re: Calm Air Layoffs?
Not confirmed. Check yourself before you wreck yourself.

Re: Calm Air Layoffs?
It means you should check your facts before you say anything. The latest info we've gotten is that there won't be any lay-offs. Several pilots have left for other airlines recently and I believe 2 or 3 guys took voluntary leaves. I guess this was enough natural attrition that the company felt lay-offs weren't necessary at this time. Good news!ivtec wrote:What does that mean? "check yourself before you wreck yourself". Just curious.

Re: Calm Air Layoffs?
Rumour around my place of work is that Calm Air just laid off most of their ground staff in CYTH. Nothing on Google about it (yet?) Anyone in the know care to comment?
Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?

Re: Calm Air Layoffs?
While we don't have lay offs happening at PAG the same terrible management styles are in place. I feel for the Calm Air pilots things will only get worse for them as EIC upper management puts even more pressure to squeeze blood out of a rock. At PAG we have seen our crews hit the 100 hour flying in a 30 day window and hover there as upper management scrambles to cover all the extra flying. It's become even a worse place to work and the pilots have been without a contract for over a year. Our flights are routinely 12 to 13 hour duty days with 8 to 10 turns and fatigue is just laughed off and pilots are intimidated into thinking they wil km loose their job if they pull that card- with no end in sight. Most guys are now seriously looking to get out even the hardened ones. For you new pilots coming to get your time be prepared for gong show.
