Flair Aviation

Post by Longtimer »

I see that Flair Aviation based in YLW has been granted a licence from the CTA to operate a Domestic Passenger and All Cargo operation. A search for their AOC shows that they operate 727s. Does any have any info on this new carrier? Is it KFC under another name or ????

Yes it is part of KFC and it's not. My friend at KFC says that it is BL attempt to bypass the unionize employees of KFC. Much like Winniport was.

Interesting. I do wonder how anyone can think that they will make money with a sked passenger flights using a 727.

That I guess is the million dollar question. I believe I read on another thread that even First Air is retiring their 27 in favour of the 37!

its not the 727 they will make money with, its all the new business which will go to flair and not the kfc pilots.

Curently Flair has the old ACE contract flying for Cubana.

I think you got it right there, longtimer.....tough market for a 27.
KFC pilots need not worry - whole different company; Flair or no Flair will not make anything different for KFC.

Any new work will go to Flair.
Any new aircraft type will go to Flair.
The YYZ trips flying south to Cuba should be piloted by KFC pilots, its means we lost out on three Captain, three FO and three SO upgrades.
It means Purolator suffers as the KFC pilots call OPS for normal operations and get put on hold or told to call back because they are busy with Flair.
It means Purolator suffers and has to pay for new pilot training as the KFC pilots quit since any chance of a future at KFC just flew out the window with Flair.
It means, if you have ever been sitting on the fence trying to decide if you should get out, you just got your shove.
