Wasaya -8 back online?
I saw a dash-8 flying sked around the last few days that I've never seen before. I thought they shut down all the -8 flying aside form the Gold Corp machine out of YQT. Are they trying to set a bit of a foothold on some dash-8 routes out of YXL before Perimeter moves in? Anyone know details?

I know I personally cannot wait to watch the PAG sh*tshow unfold. Should be fun watching these two circuses go at 'er!
Yeehaw!

I saw the new DH8A in YQT the other day; looks like a nice new paint job. I guess when you write off millions of dollars of debt, and pay 10 cents on the dollar on other debt, you can afford to have nice things.

How do you go 205 kts TAS on 32 gal/hr without turbos!
Re: Wasaya -8 back online?
About the debt payoff? Yeah. It's true, and there was a stipulation with the lenders that the money Wasaya was using to pay them their $0.10 on the $1.00 was to be reinvested as a low interest loan back to the company. Or something along those lines. So basically they wipe off %90 of their debt without losing any cash flow.

The Dash 8 100 is registered to Jazz Aviation. They probably run on a deposit up front or on a credit card. Mind you it is Jazz so they probably run on credit.

No doubt on the backs of the tax payers.
Gotta love when poorly run racist companies use the citizens to stay afloat, some roaches just need to die already.

Why is this a racist company?

So if that's not racist, nether is this.
As a 100% White owned organization, it is the policy of Ayasaw to hire the most qualified candidate for the position, but to give preference to White candidates, especially those from our owner communities. Please note, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
Racism is racism

The new D8 Wasaya is operating is an "ex" Jazz machine that was parked in storage at Chorus Aviation's North Bay boneyard.

Something tells me you didn't drive that SuperchargedRS on the reserves very much. I'm okay if Wasaya wants to provide a leg up to a pilot with Native background. If one fledgling aviator sees it as an opportunity to pursue something big, then that makes all the difference in the world.

Lol, I haven't actually had that camaro for years, closest thing I got to that now is a C6.
As for the res, I'll go to the res from time to time, cheap gas and a sketchy but good steak joint.
So a leg up based off race is cool?
Why was there such a stink when white people gave other whites a leg up over other races... Oh yeah, because it's F'd up and racist.
Get where you want to go based off your skills, character and education, not your color, frankly I could give a damn what race someone is, race has zero relevance in the cockpit, gravity and physics don't give two chits about race, gender or sob stories, your only salvation, and the only salvation of your pax, will be your skills and the experience you can draw upon.

Spent many good hours in JSV. The Jazz classic fleet had (have) their own little personalities, and this one was a good machine.
But almost 30 years old now...
Re: Wasaya -8 back online?
Only a little. The paint scheme is kind of boring, but different and new. I was wondering if you looked close enough, whether you were going to see a big UN outline under the paint on the tail. Given the supposed pedigree of this airframe, that is less likely, but still possible.midwingcrisis wrote:NotDirty! Are you for real?
On the money thing, I was totally for real, but already discussed here: Wasaya, maybe bankrupt?? maybe not..
