Simulator hours
Hi All,
I reviewed the list set out by TC . CPL requires 100 PIC (20 CC), 35 dual for training. 10 hours of sim time can count towards the 20 hour dual requirement. To make up 200 hours I need 65 hours. Can anyone tell me - with proof - that I can not count simulator time for these hours?

Re: Simulator hours
I doubt TC will let you count one dual flight to satisfy 2 requirements , which means if you did 1 hour dual night time under the hood , it will count only as instrument time and 'not' night and instrument both.

FYI hood time is not cunducted during night hours.Mercator wrote:I doubt TC will let you count one dual flight to satisfy 2 requirements , which means if you did 1 hour dual night time under the hood , it will count only as instrument time and 'not' night and instrument both.
Re: Simulator hours
Why not? After your PPL can instrument training not be conducted at night?krrave wrote:FYI hood time is not cunducted during night hours.Mercator wrote:I doubt TC will let you count one dual flight to satisfy 2 requirements , which means if you did 1 hour dual night time under the hood , it will count only as instrument time and 'not' night and instrument both.

Re: Simulator hours
Sure it is, uh, conducted, whenever, if your instructor decides to do it at night then he/she is the one that logs the night PIC....those damn self-serving overpaid and underworked top guns....
Your proof is CARS 421.30, the first line of the requirements is
EDIT- Doh! BPF beat me to it as I was spilling beer on my keyboard!

Okay thanks guys. Thought I'd try to work myself a loophole ! Appreciate the direct references. BEEEEEEEEEERRRRR!!!
Re: Simulator hours
You can't cross log night and IMC. It's one or the other.Mercator wrote:Why not? Re: Simulator hours
Well, night and instrument you sure can, but for the purposes of licencing requirements you can't log dual night and -hood- time. Dual night is pointless anyways past the night rating requirement.

Re: Simulator hours
My question is why would you want a commercial pilot's license but not want to fly as much as you can?
I would have way more hours if I could afford them. I don't even use the sim, it's like a penalty, not fun at all.

I'm not trying to trick anyone. This is my "over 260 pounds account."Hockaloogie wrote:Some people think it's cool to post under more than one username. They think they have everyone fooled, but they don't.trey kule wrote:I never cease to be amazed by some of the posts made on this forum..

I wasn't talking about you. I know all your IDs, and I never even thought about you when I made that statement. I mean, you weren't present in the thread at the time, right?Beefitarian wrote:I'm not trying to trick anyone. This is my "over 260 pounds account."

Just stating my one of my main reasons for having multiple accounts. I had lost some weight and was flying again so I made a new one.

Re: Simulator hours
Pretty much. As an adult (mid teenager) I have never gone below 200lbs. I think last time from eating less and walking more I was under 240. I don't want to jinx it but I was trending lower a few days ago.
Trey, what's happening?
