- FedEx DC10 - landing gear collapse, then fire
- American Air 767 - rejected takeoff and fire
- Eastern Air Lines 737-700 Charter - runway overshoot

Both the FedEx and American look like write offs, quite a busy few days for the NTSB !

Good thing no one lost their lives.

On Oct 29th 2016 the NTSB reported that an examination of the right hand engine revealed the #2 stage high pressure turbine disk had failed, ejecting parts of the disk, which landed in an UPS warehouse about 2920 feet from the aircraft. So far about 90% of the disk have been recovered including another piece that was found 0.3nm from the accident site

That's scary, I used to taxi by that area on a regular basis. Southeast cargo ramp. Just shows that you could be killed doing your walkaround by an airplane accident that is completely out of view from your present position.

Why do you just think in terms of a pilot doing his walkaround? Why not someone working the ramp or a passenger en/de-planing, or anyone else for that matter? All ramp lives matter #allramplivesmatter

I was actually thinking the same thing, 3 incidents in as many days. Theoretically you could count 4 with the Citation accident out of CYLW. Like it was said, thankfully no one else was killed or injured in the last 3.

You are so right. ALL LIVES MATTER. Anyone who criticizes a statement like that is no more than a disgusting bigot. That being said, like most people I do to tend to emphasize my own life a bit more and I would expect any ramp worker to be willing to dive between myself and a turbine part and make the ultimate sacrifice for on time performance reasons.

As for the UPS ramp, there is usually no activity during the day.

Lots of incredible video out there thanks to cell phones! One I believe was taken by a Rampie at an FBO across from the terminal. Happened to have his phone out and caught the final roll out of the DC-10. "2 minutes flat" until the trucks were spraying foam.

Wearing a high-vis vest would protect you from incoming high speed objects, they should be mandatory within 5km of an operational airport! #highvissaveslives

I remember reading, several years ago, about the 289 program at Ford in the glory days of the Shelby Mustang. Apparently, they ran up one of the stock machines on a dyno to see how high it would rev. At 14,000rpm, one of the conrods let go, and the valve cover was found about .25mile away in a field..
