The story you linked indicates the gun was in checked baggage, not carry-on:AEROMONKEY wrote:So the news story i just watched stated that the shooter arrived on an Air Canada flight and had a weapon in his carry on??

Chip LaMarca, a Broward County commissioner, was briefed on the airport shooting by the Broward Sheriff's Office. He told The Associated Press that the shooter had arrived in Fort Lauderdale aboard a Canadian flight with a gun in a checked bag. "After he claimed his bag, he went into the bathroom and loaded the gun and started shooting. We don't know why," LaMarca said.

However, Air Canada said it has no record of any passenger with the name of the suspect nor of any checked guns on any of its flights to the city.
"We can confirm that we have no record of such a passenger by that name, or checked guns, on any of our flights to FLL," the tweet said.

Heard a while ago (now), that he was ex-military (honourably discharged) and travelled from Anchorage to Minneapolis then onwards to Fort Lauderdale. So that info must have been corrected.
Then again, this might also now be wrong information too.

Re: Shooting incident at KFLL
Since they have no idea who or how many people were let out onto the secure area they'll need to search every inch of the airport before they re-open it I would think.

The social media fake-news will be out in full force and Canada as well as Air Canada will be in the crosshairs.

Re: Shooting incident at KFLL
What's any of this have to do with the incident?
It was a nut job hell bent to kill people, not Canada's fault, not Americas fault, not the airlines fault, not the guns fault, 100% all the nut jobs fault
Airports are great targets, like schools, people are un armed to the point they can't even bear..over 10oz of pop

Iraqi WMD, Afghanistan ISIS, Libya, etc etc ,,, ALL created by the coalition ( America, Saudi Arabia ETC ) America sends her young into combat, gets their mind totally F_____ up and they come back and are treated like SHIT !! Is there ANY wonder why these things happen? Perhaps the Lefties ( Rockie) will want to ban guns AND checked-in luggage and all military veterans on board aircraft? ( slaves of the military industrial complex )

What a quagmire - seemed like airport staff had no idea what to do with the passengers on the ramp.
Lucky it was 77 degrees in sunny weather.
Some just stayed near the gate - take-off's continued - but then a second warning and people fled across the runway to the FBO area's.
Now today - I hear there are over 20,000 items left behind from passenger's - many left their ID behind - they are being asked to fill out a Federal Form in order to request to have their item returned.
On top of that many had no where to stay, no ID, today being a big cruise ship day - many will be missing their vacations.
Obviously all lucky not too have been involved in the shooting.
Imagine if it had been cold (though it is Florida) or a torrential downpour.
As for the shooter - guy was hearing voices and visions- tried to get help - even turned himself into the local FBI office - he was hospitalized for a couple of days and released -
however obviously no problem keeping his legally registered handgun.

We take a young person, generally with an uncertain future, in poverty to lower middle class household, teach him/her to hate and kill and then throw them into a hellhole like the middle east. When they come home, they are expected to be just like any other American / Canadian . We supply the enemy and their mosques and imams to indoctrinate them, and carry their gun(s) to the destination for 1 last shootout !!! SAD

Kinda the same during the Vietnam caper, young fellas(my generation) mostly from working class family background at draft age. Many returned damaged beyond repair- minus the 56,000 who came back in metal coffins. A whole generation of kids wiped out from the most useless war. I was around then and remember the chant" hey, hey LBJ how many kids you kill today".........crazyaviator wrote:We take a young person, generally with an uncertain future, in poverty to lower middle class household, teach him/her to hate and kill and then throw them into a hellhole like the middle east.
