WestJet Future Fleet Plans
It appears that 10 B737 MAX9 orders magically appeared on their 2016 year end financial report. Thoughts?

"(iv) WestJet's Boeing 737 MAX 7 and MAX 8 aircraft orders can each be substituted for the other model of aircraft, or for Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft."
What so magical about that? The MAX 9 has almost the same range of the MAX 8 with better yield. So don't be surprised if more MAX 9 "magically" appear.

Now the Max 10 would really be interesting.
Re: WestJet Future Fleet Plans
Am I reading the table right? It shows a net increase of -zero- 737's over the next five years. Five years being a reasonable projection timeframe in this industry.
Reading into that, pilot advancement at Mainline will be via attrition only. How many retirements are upcoming over the next 5 years?
Projecting any net fleet increase beyond five years without understanding the nuances of the marketplace that far off, which no one can, is a little suspect.
DP.
