Re: New hire bids
Even if there is a new GS today, bids aren't done until the end of the day on Tuesday, before your ALPA dinner.Monorail Conductor wrote:Is there a newhire class today? What were the bids?

Re: New hire bids
They show you whats in the bid at the end of day 1 with Steve. End of day 2 before ALPA dinner you actually do the bid. They give you the night to think it over. So if there was a class today they would know around 4pm EST.

Re: New hire bids
When they did that in my class, it completely changed (as in not a single position that they had on day one) by Tuesday. Their explanation was "staffing forecasts" or something. Not a big deal, I think everyone got exactly what they wanted anyways.KenoraPilot wrote:They show you whats in the bid at the end of day 1 with Steve. Re: New hire bids
I have a groundschool in March. I am wondering what my odds of being able to get the classic at any base are?. Is the classic a highly sought after aircraft? Or not so much? The Q would be pick number two..
Thanks !
Again, a great company and I'm lucky to have a job here for sure.. just a matter of personal preference and transition ease.

Re: New hire bids
If Seneca grads can go from flying a Cessna to right seat in an RJ, you'll probably be OK with any type transition. The training department is top notch.
That being said, they have been filling a ton of positions on the classic lately. So that could be good or bad. Either good, as in there are lots of positions to fill. Or bad, as in all the positions are filled already.
Looking at the lists, there are a lot of Q and RJ vacancies out west that will eventually need filling... It's a mixed bag, you really won't know for sure until day 1.

Hey,
You won't know until the 27th..... Expect a large groundschool, they are trying to fill them up to 20....
Expect a lot of YUL positions

Re: New hire bids
If you want YYZ, don't take the RJ if it is offered and you have a choice. We don't have any of those positions in YYZ anymore, and with the 4 year type freeze, you likely won't be able to bid off it until you can hold the left seat somewhere. Personally, I would take the Q if you have that option. I see it having the most potential to get back to YYZ quickly if you don't get that base initially.avanesso wrote:Hey guys

A mile of road will take you a mile, but a mile of runway can take you anywhere

Re: New hire bids
The classic in YYZ will have the fastest upgrade times over the Q, so consider that as well.

Re: New hire bids
It does, at the moment, however you aren't type frozen to bid left seat.KenoraPilot wrote:The classic in YYZ will have the fastest upgrade times over the Q, so consider that as well.

Re: New hire bids
Why would that matter? You're not frozen on type for an upgrade...KenoraPilot wrote:The classic in YYZ will have the fastest upgrade times over the Q, so consider that as well.
LOTS of vacancies in YUL. YVR and YYZ. YYC not so much..
