IFR Currency/Validity

Post by flyboy88 »

Hello all! I just need some advice about IFR currency/validity. So here's the situation....I finished my IFR training in April 2014 and haven't flown IFR since. I know that the instrument rating doesn't expire anymore but I'm also not current as I don't meet the 6-6-6 requirement.
The question is if I'm looking for a job as an FO in a company that requires a valid instrument rating, will the training provided and PPC make me current and legal again? Or do I have to do an IPC in school before getting hired? Please advice. Thanks!

From Advisory Circular 401.04 para 1.2 (3)

Pilots employed by Subpart 4 of Part VI private operators or Part VII air operators generally meet the recency requirements for their instrument rating by means of a competency check, Line Oriented Evaluation (LOE) or pilot proficiency check, as appropriate, instead of an IPC.
An IFR PPC will allow you to once again exercise the privileges of the IFR rating your hold.
