luscombe tail wheel
Does anyone know where to get a new wheel for the back end of a Luscombe 8? It's the original size, looks like a solid rubber puck 6" dia, 1/2" shaft. Can't see anything obviously fitting the bill at Spruce or Wag Aero, hoping someone knows something suitable.
DId you hear the one about the jurisprudence fetishist? He got off on a technicality.

Ask Doug Ronan http://www.dougronan.com/. If he does not know, he knows someone who does...

Re: luscombe tail wheel
you're talking the Maule tailwheel?
Do yourself a huge favour and buy a Scott 3200 tailwheel. you and your airplane will be forever grateful. years of care free flying. Throw some grease in the thing every once in a while and you're good to go.

Maule works fine for me. Changed it once in 1000hrs.. Have to do regular greasing and the fork bearing wears if not greased but it takes a good pounding back there.
ACS sells the wheels.

I will upgrade the tailwheel at some point, but for now, a Bad Person pointed me towards an Aircraft Spruce part, which arrived today.
