Survey flight. Not sure at what altitude this would normally be done.

"C-FQQB, a Piper PA-31 (Navajo) operated by Exact Air, carried out the second survey flight Magnetometer of the day from Schefferville, QC (CYKL) with 2 pilots on board. The crew was accompanied by C-FVTL, another Piper PA-31 from the same air operator. CFQQB Took off at about 13:36 for a flight of approximately 5 hours, followed by C-FVTL. The northwest end of the work area was approximately a distance of 25 nautical miles from CYKL. According to the established order, C-FQQB was to land at CYKL first, followed by C-FVTL about 10 minutes later. C-FQQB was reported missing by the crew of C-FVTL at around 6:55 pm and researches were launched.
The aircraft was located at the top of a ore deposit located about 3.5 nm from CYKL. Examination of the site revealed that CFQQB collided with an auxiliary power line that crossed a railway line, in a valley between two deposits of ore residues. Depending on the impact with the wires, the pursued his flight over a distance of approximately 250 meters, while being captive of two wires which have been wound on the left helix. When the wires have reached their maximum extension, the engine and its propeller were torn from the cell.
The aircraft then struck the relief about 50 meters away and the left engine of the aircraft was found later. Following the impact, there was no fire and no signal from the ELT was detected. The accident produced during the hours of clarity. Both pilots sustained fatal injuries."
