It's not all on the people hired, clearly both of these companies have a reputation that precedes the employees. Why are such companies allowed to exist? Hiring "idiots" is The ONLY way they can "get the job done", as one pilot from this company said to us shortly after the North Spirit crash.sunk wrote:I have the perfect solution.....don't hire fucking idiots.

Good point. Do the fuellers who do this stuff accidentally put diesel in their cars instead of gasoline, or vice versa? Why is it so much harder for them to properly identify the trucks before they drive them to the planes?

Speaking as a fueler, not every one of us is as aviation minded as we'd like them to be. I'm still amazed that a few of them have trouble distinguishing the difference between a piston engined aircraft and a turbine engined aircraft just by looking at what's ahead of the firewall. Of course there are some exceptions when it comes to cross-dressers like the Diamond DA-42 that run on Jet A (diesel engine).Diadem wrote:Good point. And what about the legally required label two inches from each fuel cap on the aircraft, stating the required fuel type and tank capacity? Nobody reads anymore?
