Unlikely until they get everyone back flying. Hard to ask for more when people are paid to sit at home and supply is so high !
The supply is not nearly as high as people might think. That will become very apparent when they are done recalling and begin hiring. No way those scales survive till 2035

Yes.... Porters year 3 CA hourly rate is higher than Jazz top pay for 17 year CA. I predict there will be quite a few junior pilots at Jazz who aren’t interested in AC head to Porter when their jet flying starts.

CA
1. 127.62
2. 134.48
3. 143.07
4. 151.14
5. 156.74
6. 162.43
7. 168.66
8. 174.62
9. 180.76
10. 187.12
11. 192.63
12. 198.79

***And 3 years ago I was relatively content with those numbers but with hyperinflation starting to kick in, not so much.

Not 2035, but I would bet there won't be negociations in the first half of 2022

What is the take home per month for a first year FO?

I can figure out gross from payscale and average credits per month but curious on what the actually take home is after pension/union dues/benefits are deducted?

Trying to figure out if I can afford the jump

Thanks.

Stop with the perdiem...it's money already spent.

Unless you claim it on taxes....drop it.

This is ridiculous. When literally 30% of the money going into your account is per diem, it counts. Most FO's making ~3K/month are probably going to try and minimize their food costs while away.

It's not pay, but it matters.

I never eat to full perdium. Some days I get away with only spending 20-25. Rest in my pocket.

There are some carriers that embellish non-taxable compensation as a partial replacement for taxable compensation. Jazz is not one of those carriers.

Jazz daily per diem rates are less than those paid to Government of Canada employees travelling on business.

Jazz year 1-5 pay rates are deficient. With any luck, market forces will force change.

All those wanting to come to Jazz expect to see this... T4 rich pay poor. Our deductions are huge. Our pay needs to increase

Might not be quite that bad but it’s close to 50% for me. That’s with no overtime. The benefit premiums have gone crazy recently. Taxes up too of course. With inflation things are really starting to look bleak.

As long as people continue showing for the GS nothing will change.
There’s inertia in the industry and the wages are never gonna go up…
I’m sure they can still fill all their GS!

Company should be paying 100% of benefits vs 70%.

Goes directly to take home pay (for the pilot) and company gets the expense deduction without attracting additional payroll taxes.

Not holding my breath.

I'm at 55 percent deductions. Earning less take home as a 705 captain than when I was a new grad engineer making 68 K. At least I can look forward to 4 years of flat pay afterwards ...

Do you consider paying for a benefit as a deduction? Or, do you consider the company portion of any benefit sharing as income? What about pension contribution, do you include that in your income total? If there wasn't a benefits package available through employment, what would you be paying for the same level of service out-of-pocket? If there were not union dues, how would defend you wages and working conditions or protect yourself within labour and human rights law not to mention CARs and other civil Air Law?

You can't just add up the deduction column of your pay stub and consider it lost income, it has value.

I can't really show off my Canada Life card to pay for my house or my car at the end of the month...

It HAS value, but not as much as we pay for it IMHO. FA have solid benefits and pay much less than us.

All those wanting to come to Jazz think twice !!! if AC is your dream job, just know that pilots from anywhere with +2000hours are interviewing. Jazz pilots that completed the process at Mainline before Covid are still waiting to restart the whole process, we're talking pilots hired in 2017 which is close to 5 years back. you do the math on when your turn is up. OTS (Without university degree) are getting offers in the meantime. all based on '' were short staffed in the express network so need you to keep your seat for now'' total bs and Jazz pilots seeing this you better get your voices heard cause it's ridiculous.

Anyone thinking you'll get to Air Canada quicker from Jazz better do more research. pay is ridiculous and our top notch union is giving the impression that they are completely ignoring it in our weekly emails.
